Prehospital Treatment Mat
Protect to Perform
Don't settle for less
Meet Cazmat - the clinically focused kneeling mat, designed by medics with hands-on experience in patient care at the roadside. With space for up to 3 people around the patient, Cazmat allows you to mark out the treatment area, focus on providing high-quality care, and reduce risk of immediate and long-term injury. Trust Cazmat to provide the space you need in critical situations.
Hazard Protection
Delivering care to patients at the point of injury or illness comes with scene considerations. Cazmat provides protection from common surface hazards, a step above standard kit.
But what about knee pads?
Whilst knee pads are a useful part of PPE, Cazmat goes a step beyond and provides protection from impact, puncture and fluids. Kneeling in oil, mud, blood or vomit with knee pads still causes a contamination event, whereas Cazmat creates a barrier between the responder and the hazard, independent of what kit they are wearing. It also allows for different types of responder to get the same level of protection at the scene. Cazmat can be also be purchased for less than a pair of knee pad capable trousers, and is good for three people.
For the ultimate protection, pair a Cazmat with a decent pair or trousers and knee pads...
Cazmat is way more than just an alternative to knee pads - it is a solution for creating a safer prehospital treatment zone.

Award Winning Design
Founder Dr Tom Pavelle is the recipient of multiple awards from the University of Plymouth and Industry, to help him develop Cazmat to where it is today. The passion to make a difference to patients, and the people who strive for better patient care has been there from the start.
THE STORY OF CAZMAT
It was when Dr Tom Pavelle offered assistance to a fallen man at the roadside that it was clear the tarmac on a live road was not a good place to kneel. Whilst waiting for the ambulance, Tom expressed the desire for a mat that could accommodate responders around the whole patient, and when he was unable to find one on the market, decided to design one.
And so CAZMAT was born.
From initial cardboard models through to formal manufacturing prototypes, Dr Tom has taken the product on a journey. With the support of various awards from Plymouth University, the input of many different healthcare professionals and partnership with Industry, CAZMAT is now a highly sophisticated and refined product, suitable for clinical practice.
CAZMAT solves the problems of provider comfort and safety at the patient side, and highlights the treatment zone around the patient for greater visibility. By universalising the treatment surface, it doesn't matter what a provider is wearing, they will experience the benefit.
CAZMAT's patented folding design perfectly balances compact folded size with optimal surface area when deployed. It encourages gaining 360 degree access around the patient, and ensures that responders are focussing on patient care, not their discomfort.
Suitable for front line ambulance use, event first aid, the military, training providers, or just to have in your car, CAZMAT provides a streamlined solution to problems faced by prehospital providers every day.
